Lessons

Angela Kepley is a highly sought after educator and strives to develop excellent musicians at all levels. She teaches both percussion and piano. Percussion lessons may include snare drum, drumset, marimba, timpani, and much more! Although focus may occasionally be on one or two areas at times, students will gain an extensive percussive education.

Former students have gone on to pursue music degrees and are currently working in the music performance, music education, and recording arts fields. Many others continue to be music enthusiasts. Wherever life takes you, music is meaningful, valuable, and personal.

Lessons take place in Brookfield, IL. There is a waiting list, so be sure you get on it so you can snag those lesson times when they open up!

LTHS Students have an opportunity to take class at school during their band class. Please inquire if you are interested in this option.

Adult students who are available during the daytime may be accepted without being on the waiting list.

Ensembles

2017 Registration Form available HERE

The Kepley Studio has three ensemble seasons.

1) Kepley Studio Percussion Ensemble

This a unique group that allows percussionists to play a variety of instruments in a small group setting, learn chamber music skills, and have a ton of fun! You will not find another ensemble quite like this! Auditions typically occur in November and are used to place students in appropriate small groups. Weekly Rehearsal occur January through mid-March with a culminating performance.

2) Holiday Ensemble

The Kepley Studio Holiday Ensemble performs annually at a local senior living center. Beginners and Advanced players are welcome! Students new to the ensemble program must have instructor approval. There are minimal rehearsals which requires student preparation before the first rehearsal. It is a super fun and musically rewarding experience!

3) Double Resonance Percussion Ensemble Summer Camp

Students will play a variety of instruments, work with a small group of percussionists, learn chamber music skills, and prepare for and perform a concert at the conclusion of camp. T-shirt included. New members to the percussion ensemble program must have instructor approval. An audition may be required to determine part assignments.

Percussion ensemble through the studio is such a unique experience that I would not trade for the world. The quality of music AND the quality of people is incredible. I’ve gained so many wonderful friends from the activity that inspire me and encourage me. At the Kepley Studio, ensemble is an undeniable family.”
~Percussionist and Pianist, age 16
